Make Anything Possible (MAP) Method
This story highlights another advantage of the MAP method: its flexibility in addressing subjects either consciously through dialogue and mental exploration, unconsciously, or both. For instance, when working unconsciously, clients can focus on a general feeling, a physical sensation, or even a nightmare and still be treated effectively. They don’t need to use language as long as they are aware of a sensation that can be measured through their feedback. Additionally, sessions often bring new unconscious information to the surface for processing.
The association process is particularly effective for accessing deep subconscious memories, allowing practitioners to bypass conscious barriers. This capability enables treatment to address somatic physical pain, body expressions, or subconscious memories without requiring therapists to consciously identify specific targets. The body and mind autonomously surface relevant memories stored in areas such as the spine, organs, endocrine system, cellular memories, and brain.
MAP also empowers clients with a self-help technique called “MAP on the Go,” which involves three simple steps to guide the superconscious mind in managing inner states between sessions. Another benefit is providing clients with tools for daily inner work without requiring the therapist’s presence. This is particularly useful for clients with extensive trauma histories, as weekly 50-minute sessions often aren’t sufficient. MAP allows for supplementary resources like audio recordings, which clients can use between sessions to deepen their progress.
Case studies have shown that subliminal recorded sessions help sensitive clients avoid re-triggering trauma while still receiving support. Though still in the research phase, these tools have already proven valuable for many clients. MAP also accelerates healing between private sessions through live group programs or recorded materials that follow structured curricula. For instance, a 12-week program can systematically neutralize memories from conception to 18 years old. Therapists can also tailor programs for specific groups, such as those addressing food addiction or autoimmune diseases.
MAP offers significant advantages for therapists as well. Constant exposure to traumatic stories can lead to burnout or compassion fatigue. With MAP, therapists maintain a relaxed state, fostering an atmosphere of well-being while avoiding vicarious traumatization. Since clients don’t need to verbally share their experiences for healing, therapists are protected from emotional strain.
MAP is also versatile enough to address unique challenges. For example, Susanne Bond, a trauma therapist, used MAP with a young boy who refused to engage in traditional therapy. Despite his disinterest, after three sessions where he simply listened to the therapist’s words while covered with a blanket, his mother reported a complete disappearance of his anger.
Although many therapeutic methods target adults and adolescents, few address children’s specific needs. MAP can be easily integrated into child therapy, even between sessions, through tools like subliminal recordings. For example, two children abandoned by addicted parents experienced remarkable improvements in anxiety, behavior, and academic performance after just a month of using subliminal MAP recordings.
The flexibility of MAP has inspired therapists to complement their practices with it, integrating it into various modalities like art therapy, inner child therapy, dance therapy, psychodrama, EMDR, EFT, neurofeedback, mindfulness, meditation, and Internal Family Systems (IFS).
